About the Role

Lightbeam is looking for a Product Manager focused on Data Security and Governance to help build and scale a category-defining platform. This role is for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building from first principles, and wants real ownership over product outcomes.

You will work at the intersection of data security, access governance, risk remediation, and compliance automation, partnering closely with engineering, design, sales, and customers. This is a hands-on role where strategy and execution go together. If you like shipping, debating trade-offs, and seeing customers use what you build, you’ll fit right in.

About Lightbeam

Lightbeam converges data security, privacy, and governance so organizations can confidently scale across cloud, SaaS, and on-prem environments.

Powered by generative AI, Lightbeam pioneered an identity-centric, automation-first approach to data security. Unlike siloed tools, Lightbeam provides unified visibility and control across structured and unstructured data, enabling organizations to:

  • Discover and classify sensitive data at scale
  • Identify and remediate risky and excessive access
  • Enforce security controls directly at the data layer
  • Continuously monitor exposure and misconfigurations
  • Strengthen resilience against ransomware and accidental data exposure
  • Comply with global data privacy regulations.

Why Join Lightbeam

  • Build real product, not slideware: You’ll work on core platform capabilities used by security teams every day.
  • High ownership, high impact: Your decisions will directly influence roadmap, customer outcomes, and company direction.
  • Freedom to experiment: Early-stage environment with room to test ideas, validate fast, and iterate.
  • Learn the business end-to-end: Exposure to customers, GTM, integrations, and strategic partnerships.

Why This Role Is Not for Everyone

This is not a role for someone looking for a narrowly scoped PM seat or a “wait-for-instructions” environment. You will be expected to drive clarity, make hard prioritization calls, and operate comfortably in an extremely fast-paced environment where context shifts quickly.

If you want structure handed to you, this will feel uncomfortable. If you like building structure while moving fast, you’ll love it.
